About the Event
The 2020 Census has concluded, and the process of redistricting at the congressional, state, and local levels has begun. This process is as important as the elections for any of the offices affected. Consequently, the NAACP Office of the General Counsel is offering this free program, designed to equip those having little or no redistricting experience with substantive knowledge about the redistricting process and how to litigate claims.
This educational session will include:
Redistricting 101: The Basics of Redistricting
Drawing Lines to Protect One Person - One Vote
Gerrymandering
Litigating Claims Under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act
