Protecting People While Preserving the Mission:
A Statement from the Waukesha NAACP
Waukesha, Wis - Jun 2026: The Waukesha NAACP exists to promote civil rights, civic engagement, equal opportunity, and constructive dialogue across communities. After careful consideration of the current political environment and with the wellbeing of members/volunteers in mind, the branch has made the difficult decision to temporarily take down its website and reduce its digital footprint while additional safeguards are evaluated.
The Waukesha NAACP remains committed to:
• Civil rights advocacy
• Community education
• Civic participation
• Constructive dialogue
• Supporting residents seeking equitable outcomes
Supporters who wish to remain engaged are encouraged to connect through established NAACP membership channels and official communications.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) continues to maintain national membership opportunities and member resources for individuals who want to support civil rights advocacy and community action. The organization describes membership as joining a nationwide network committed to advancing equality and justice.
Membership information is available through:
The NAACP also notes that supporters can join and participate through local, youth, and college chapters nationwide.
Protecting people while continuing the work remains the priority.
