Mr. Medley, a 28-year-old Black man, was found deceased on the grounds of the Brookfield Hills Golf Course earlier this month. While law enforcement has stated that preliminary evidence suggests suicide, the family has raised critical concerns about unanswered questions, inconsistencies, and the need for a full and transparent investigative process.

The Medley family, their legal counsel, and the Waukesha County NAACP assert that the public deserves clarity and accountability, particularly given the racial-justice implications and community impact of cases involving unexplained or contested deaths.

 

Friday’s press conference focused on:

• A call for the release of all available information related to the investigation

• Request for full transparency from the Brookfield Police Department and the Waukesha County Medical Examiner

• Urged an independent review of all evidence, including surveillance footage and forensic findings

• Solidarity with a grieving family seeking truth and closure

 

Community members, clergy, civil-rights advocates, elected officials, and media outlets were encouraged to attend and stand with the Medley family during this critical moment.
