Urge Congress to oppose House legislation that would repeal buildings-related energy tax incentives

As you likely have seen, the U.S. House of Representatives is moving a budget reconciliation bill that would repeal or severely weaken key buildings-related energy tax incentives that were expanded under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This legislation is an urgent threat that would pull the rug out from businesses that rely on federal tax incentives to make investments in energy-related improvements to buildings.

To get the bill changed, Congress needs to hear loudly from our community that it will create significant economic harm and disruption. The time to make your voice heard is now! Please join us in calling on Congress to reject the proposed legislation.
The tax breaks harmed in the bill that are most critical to homes and buildings are:

Sec. 45L tax credit for homebuilders to build more energy-efficient homes;

Sec. 48/48E Investment Tax Credit (ITC) for companies making clean electricity improvements such as geothermal systems and rooftop solar;

Sec. 25C tax credit for homeowners to make efficiency improvements to their homes such as upgrading their heating and cooling systems or adding insulation;

Sec. 30C tax credit for alternative vehicle charging and pumping infrastructure.

Make your voice heard by sending a message directly to your members of Congress. We’ve simplified the process by providing a template message you can send with one click, but we encourage you to personalize it as you wish.

We hope you will join us to speak out in support of these tax incentives and tell Congress to reject the proposed reconciliation package. Even if you have contacted your members of Congress on this already, now is a critical time to reach out again.
